Everyone has his ideals. A businessman wishes to make greater profit; a farmer expects plumper harvests; a student tries to learn more and better.
However, one should be sensible about whether his ideal is well founded or not. If it is, one has to plan and work hard for its realization. Effort, skill and persistence are all necessary. And very often, one has to get help from others, including advice and support in one form or another.
My ideal is to become a doctor. It is said that the field of medicine is a well-paid profession, but I take it as a lofty profession entrusted with saving people’s lives. To realize my ideal I have concentrated on laboratory work to develop the analytical skills necessary to become a qualified doctor. I believe that I will realize this ideal one day.

下午，还是万里无云，大大太阳当空照。而我心情也一样，因为我要去学英语了。在路上，妈妈千叮咛万嘱咐：“说学英语一定要认真，一点也马虎不得，不然，就学不好读不准。”“哦，知道了。”我似懂非懂，怀着好奇的心情，不知不觉就来到了学英语的地方，在老师的指导下，来到了教室里。
过了一会儿，开始上课了。老师先教我们三个字母，还做了三个形状。接着，老师又教我们蜜蜂、大海、树的单词和音标，还做了手势。同学们跟老师一边读单词，一边做手势很快就学会了。老师见大家都会了，就玩了一个叫小火车的游戏，轮到我了，老师问：“树怎么读？”我张口就念了起来，老师说我念的.不错，还表扬了我。不一会儿，游戏结束了。老师又开始绘声绘色地把课讲了起来，大家也聚精会神地听着。大概是第一次接触英语的缘故，时间越长我就越听越糊涂，还忘了好几个单词，回家还把字母、音标、单词全搞乱了。晕！看样子还要继续努力呢！

可是，教爷爷学英语可不是一件美差。爷爷的“ABCD”写得龙飞凤舞，你要不仔细看，还不知道他在写什么呢！爷爷读的`英语，英语中夹着一点我们的家乡话，听起来怪怪的。这一天下来，我教爷爷的英语单词。爷爷该不会的还是不会，甚至把单词都忘了。
虽然爷爷怎么学也学不会，但是爷爷的“活到老，学到老”的精神和坚持到底的毅力，还是值得我学习的。
