In some rapidly developing countries, increasing university students major in business, accounting, communication or computer programing rather than science. I personally believe that this is an inevitable transition in the era of information and globalization when capital flows worldwide and communication technology play a role in almost every field.

The changes in technology and social evolvement are being reflected in the university subject preference. The first reason that science loses its popularity to other disciplines relates to the employment rate and starting salaries upon graduation.Science undergraduates risk higher unemployment and earn less than computer programmers or businessmen and the gap may be wider in Master degree.During the economic recession, some students with interest in science may give in to the pressure in reality. Another contributor is the difficulty of science subjects that prevent many potential students from enrolling in this faculty.Picturing oneself as a scientist is not easy for a high school leaver. On top of the difficulty of this discipline itself, the application in practice and transforming into profit is harder.

However, science is so crucial to our human society that no country can afford the consequences of ignoring it.Science is the basis of many practical disciplines such as environment science, medical science, space science, engineering, genetic science and so forth. Without the support of general science, many other fields would find it very challenging to get further developed. What’s worse, science is directly related to our material life. We live on scientific research findings and products, ranging from energy supply, aircraft to numerous consumer goods.It is hard to imagine living a life without these scientific advancements. To sum up this report, science is less popular than before because the society demands more professionals in other fields such as business and communication.However I’m convinced that the potential implications are negative to the health of society, hence requiring relevant solutions to reverse the trend.

Some people see it as a good way to meet different people while others argue that its not possible to find ones partner between two people who have not previously met. As far as Im concerned, blind dating is worth trying and you can find your true love there!
First of all, nowadays many young people are always busying with their work; therefore they have little spare time to meet with their future partner, leading to more and more leftover women and men. According to a study, a happy life includes work and family balance, which means a harmonious family including the couple may contribute to a comparably happy life.
Whats more, during a blind date, usually the basic information is given to both parts; therefore its more reliable to know a persons family background, his or her job, religion etc. As is known to all, a couple should have the same belief in value, wealth, thus preventing many potential conflicts.
Last but not least, through blind dates, one can meet people with different personalities, thus having a clearer idea about which kind of person is suitable for being a lifelong mate. And blind dates are also great chances to make friends in the same age group.

WITH their decent (体面的) incomes and social status, the lives of white-collar workers are envied by many ordinary people. But their health condition, on the whole, is not good, a report says.
According to the “White Paper on the Health of Chinese White-Collar Workers,” published by the Chinese Medical Doctors Association, the Chinese Hospital Association, the Beijing Health Care Association, and the Ciming Checkup Group on December 6, high-income groups between the ages 35 and 50 are biologically (生物学上) ten years older than their actual age. Sixty percent are over-fatigued (过劳的) and 76 percent are in sub-health. Twenty percent feel lonely and 70 percent of them are unsatisfied and unhappy, the report said.
Huge work pressure is one of the major causes.
