The demolition sledgehammer has not made much headway here, leaving an increasingly harder to find view into the past.
All in all, Yangzhou is the ideal place to experience unique aspects of Chinese culture, and is a relaxing break from other overly developed and commercialized urban centers in the region.

Some of us were making the dumpling skins, others were mixing the mince and vegetables together. All of us were enjoying the process of making dumplings and chatting with each other. Before midnight, when we heard the sound of New Year's Bell, the dumplings were ready for us to eat.

4月16日上午，CCTV“希望之星”英语风采大赛湘潭赛区复赛在我们东方红学校举行。
我去的时候比赛已经开始了，只见向思璐站在上面紧张地表演着，带动着我也紧张了起来。我一看序号，呀！马上就到我了，于是我赶到座位上，其他同学都全神贯注地看着表演者，我也自作镇定的等待着。
啊，马上就到我了，我再也掩饰不住那紧张的情绪，心在不停“咚咚，咚咚”地跳着。轮到我上场了，我怀着激动而忐忑不安的心情走上了讲台。我首先敬了个礼，做了自我介绍，然后开始有声有色的表演我的节目，英语小故事《AGOODBOY》。我平复一下自己的情绪，然后流利地讲着我的故事，边讲还边做动作，仿佛进入了天真的情境。评委老师专注地听着我的.故事，不时用笔记一下什么，我看到一位评委老师的眼睛里露出了一点笑意，我如释重负。我的表演结束了，回答完老师的问题后，敬了个礼，便退场了。
比赛结束后，在回家的路上妈妈接到电话：“您的孩子成功突围，晋级决赛了。”我知道后，高兴地跳了起来，此时此刻，我想起了之前努力的情形：到老师家上完辅导课后，回家一遍又一遍的练习，经常练到晚上9点多……这些都是值得的。我现在最要感谢的是爸爸、妈妈还有那位辅导老师。
正所谓：功夫不负有心人。我从这次比赛中明白了一个道理：只要有辛苦的付出，就会有更好地回报，我要继续认真准备，争取在决赛中取得好的成绩。
