　　大年初七，又叫做“人节”，是所有人类的生日，北方流行吃面条。因为传说女娲初创世，在造出了鸡狗猪羊牛马等动物后，于第七天造出了人。

　　在东南亚的华人聚居区，这一天要捞鱼生，以示步步高升发大财。

In some overseas Chinese munities in Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia and Singapore, it is also the day when tossed raw fish salad, yusheng, is eaten for continued wealth and prosperity.

　　Several days before the new year，people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs，sheep，cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

　　新年前几天，人们开始准备。农民杀死猪、羊、公鸡和母鸡。城里人买肉、鱼和蔬菜。房子打扫干净了；门上贴着对联。门口挂着五颜六色的灯笼。
